The Good Old Days
Marketing used to be much easier/simpler before the internet came along. A local business operating within a tight geographic area had several options such as advertising in the local newspaper, distributing leaflets or relying on an eye-catching shop front and word of mouth recommendations.
It’s all changed – for the better?
Now that it’s become essential for many businesses to ‘extend market reach’ online, there’s search engine optimisation, pay-per-click ads, viral marketing, retargeting, micro and macro content and piggy-backing campaigns just for starters. Add in social media manipulation and it’s no wonder that print advertising is suffering a prolonged downturn.
We’re not suggesting that every business should go all out online – it doesn’t suit everyone to have enquiries from the other end of the country, but even holiday visitors will use the internet as an information source to find a particular type of business. So, if you’re sitting in your Luddite chair because internet marketing is far too complex for the benefits it might bring then you could be missing out. Big time.
Fortunately, there are some of us who know how it works. Interested? It doesn’t have to be big budget items either, you can make impact by using some tried and tested techniques and we can show you how.
